Regarding the laws concerning accidental manslaughter, the Torah relates the case of a blade flying off the handle of an axe in the course of a man cutting a tree. The word used for "swinging" here is ונדחה, from the root נדח, a root appearing in the Pentateuch only in the book of Deuteronomy. We examine the meaning of this word and its inter-relationship with the gamut of other words in the Holy Tongue containg the two-letter string דח.
